FCE is the most popular exam, accepted by thousands of business and educational institutions worldwide. FCE proves you have the language skills to live and work independently in an English speaking country or study on courses taught in English

The aim of the course

The aim of the course is to give you an overview of the exam format, to equip you with the skills and language you need to take the FCE examination.

The course is for

The course targets at individuals who have intermediate/upper-intermediate English skills, or have completed Cambridge PET and are ready to progress to the next level, or want a more intensive alternative to General English, or want a globally-recognized certificate of English proficiency for employment, immigration or study purposes.

Upon completion of the course

Upon completion of the course you will learn to convey ideas in English using correct grammar and sentence structure, a wider English vocabulary related to abstract themes, how to write more complex pieces of writing such as essays, reports and reviews, examination tips and strategies to help you achieve success.

The exam is made up of four papers developed to test your English language skills.


  1. Reading and Use of English part last for 1 hour 15 minutes and has 7 parts. Texts may be from newspapers and magazines, journals, books, promotional and informational material.
  2. Writing part lasts 1 hours 20 minutes and requires you to be able to produce two different pieces of writing, such as letters, reports, reviews and essays.
  3. Listening part lasts about 40 minutes, has 4 parts and requires you to be able to follow and understand news programs, presentations and everyday conversations.
  4. Speaking part lasts for 14 minutes and tests your ability to communicate effectively in face to face situations. You will take the Speaking test with one or two other candidates.


You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exams. You will be given a grade and CEFR level.
The exam is targeted at Level B2 of the CEFR. The examination also provides reliable assessment at the level above B2 (Level C1).
With scores between 180 – 190 you receive Grade A and C1 level.
With scores between 173 – 179 you receive Grade B and B2 level.
With scores between 160 – 172 you receive Grade C and B2 level.

The school will carry out regular assessments in the form of written mid-term and final tests and will provide you with mid-term written reports that allow you to keep track of your progress.

After successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion.
